Would U.S.A be the desirable place to retire?

Published by jzbrynn under Uncategorized Edit This

Since there were many people refer to U.S.A is a place for opportunity, how about a place for retirement?

U.S.A is a place combined with many cultures, and many people from different backgrounds. They might be the first generation of immigrants to this place in hope of seeking better living; some might seeking a working opportunity; others seeking to achieve their dreams. I believe that this place is full of opportunity, if you really work hard to make it happen. According to my high school teacher advised us, “Nothing is impossible, be persistent to pursue what you are looking for.” Here is another question I have to ask, would it be a desirable place to retire when you reached your retirement age?

My father has a few years to reach his retirement age, and my mother just a couple years behind my father. When someone ask my parents, would they plan to stay here for the rest of their lives, they both agree “No” anonymously. The only reason I got response from them is: 1. Undeniably, U.S.A is not their born place. Their root still in Asia, and they miss there. 2. My parents don’t speak perfect English, and they won’t feel comfortable to speak broken English in front of everyone. 3. The retirement money won’t be enough for both of them living here. 4. They have friends back in our hometown; while they only have a few here. 5. They never felt accepted culturally, even though they living here for over 10 years.

The same reaction I perceived when I talk to a couple of friends of mine who were also come from different backgrounds. They never felt belong in here. They just came here for education, and seeking for a better living. While others just need a work.

In general impression, U.S.A might stand as a world’s superpower. It displayed higher standard of living, and full of dream for people to come to pursue. But for majority of immigrants, they still have their homesick.

Do you believe in Karma?

Published by jzbrynn under Uncategorized Edit This

I do believe in Karma, and I always afraid that I would commit something sinful, which might get back to me in the near future. Karma is something we never knew it will happen or not. But in religious perspective, it is a common view. Preachers always advised us not to commit sinful things, such as rape, steal, rob, or kill, etc….. Those are extreme crimes. Even though the authority has not enough power to convict your crimes, someday, the same result will come to you while you did the same thing to others.

A friend of mine who was abandoned by his wife, has always commented on her ex -wife. He was hurt by his wife’s act. She divorced him, because she was with another man. Some day, she will receive same result. Her boyfriend will abandon her, and she will feel the same pain as he does now. I believe in what he said somehow.

In Africa, there were political wars going on every single day. Millions of people were die of these nonsensical wars. Political leaders fought for their greed, property, land, and money. The result is many people die of nothing. Some day, and some time, these ruthless political leaders will face their judgments.

Overall, be careful what you did, and ponder the result. Always commit with a good will.

Could our economic situation worse in the coming year?

Published by jzbrynn under Uncategorized Edit This

As we all knew the current situation is getting worse every single day. We don’t have much confidence in the market, and majority of us lost hope on previously promising of the bailout plan enacted by the government under Bush’s administration. We had many disappointment in the year to come, possibility. We may only notice our domestic market; but this impact is spreading out worldwide. Not only in the United States, but to Asia, and to the European countries, etc….. In the current proposal by the President - Elect Barrack Obama, he suggested the government should committed the rest of 30 some billions from the original $70 billion to the banks, and markets. Hopefully, it has some ripple effect at least. But we don’t see much of the promising signs.

In the local news, there were many plants were closing down, and many people were suddenly without a job. According to statistics, some thousands of people just had to rush to the labor department asking for unemployment aide. Home Depot just recently closing down 20 some of its warehouses. Due to the fact that the construction market is totally down. Not many people really need the building materials. A friend of mine, his wife’s work place was likely to eliminate some people. Because they had no orders from the customers from the previous months. Now, they are really slowing down. It was a worried sign for everyone.

Hopefully, after the inauguration of Barrack Obama, the economy will be better in the future and the years to come.

are we gonna have more tax return this year?

Published by jzbrynn under Uncategorized Edit This

Horrible news about employment is broadcasting everyday from the beginning of the year 2009, people are anxious, and the job security is in the shaking ground. If you watch your local newspaper, you might notice some funny fact, and occasionally seeing some photos. Some man dress in nice suit, wearing a big sign that saying “Need jobs”. What an unbelievable phenomenon. Now, what our government going to do about it? Or how should we help to revitalize the economy? It is not only deeply affected in the domestic market, but it is globally now.

There will be a few days for President - elect Barrack Obama inauguration. We all have a high hope on his new administration policy to be effective in the coming year. In the recent news reading, and some of my coworkers occasional discussion. We have a doubt. Would his tax cut plan be working, or would it getting worse? That is the major doubt we having in mind. Future can not be foreseen, but I hope that as U.S. citizens, we need to work to together, cooperate with everything we can, and not losing hope.

For the sake of this downturn economy, we should have more tax return this year. Because we gonna need extra money to save ourselves; and our government hopes that we are willing to spend some extra dollars on shopping and spending. But, in the aspect of average citizens morale, we seems losing confident on everything, especially we would like to save ourselves some emergency saving in case of unexpected.

Overall, we should keep on high hope, and work our way of this chaos.

crime goes up as economy getting worse

Published by jzbrynn under Uncategorized Edit This

If you keep up with the news, you would more likely to understand our economy is getting worse in the 2009, especially enter the new year. There are many more plants, and businesses out of financial support, and they are tending to close down. There would be many more people out of jobs. The only help they can get from is the government unemployment aide, and the unemployment insurance. The future wasn’t that much of promising at all. Hopefully, under the new administration of President - elect Obama Barrack, we will get our economy revitalized soon.

I was came across an aritcle yesterday, as it reported, a man was got mugged one day in front of a pizza hut parking lot. He was getting a 2 pizza for his friend. As he get out of the pizza hut, there was a man asking him that he needs some food desperately. He agreed to pay him some food. Later, another man come in with a gun pointing at his head, and demanded money from him. He had no choice, but handed over his wallet and his check card, his watch and his cell phone. The man shouting at to shoot him, but another the man who asked for food stop him. After they left, he immediately got on his car, and drove all the way midtown, to report to the police.

From the county report, they already increase police patrol on many district, and the crimes rate was decreased significantly. I don’t really believe in those reports, because we still afraid to walk into downtown after night. There were still too many homeless people roaming around the street.

Sometimes, I drove along the street, I still seeing many Mexicans standing around the gas station and convenience store waiting for works. Since the construction business down to the worst. Umemployment rate getting worse as many plants closing down. Police patrol to guarantee our safety is a must. Hopefully, we will see our tomorrow economy getting better.

overcharge on speeding tickets

Published by jzbrynn under Uncategorized Edit This

Now, the speeding ticket is charged even more than ever. What is the deal? In advertising, they wants to scare people not to speed anymore. In secret, government is in need of finance support from general citizens. Since they couldn’t get no more tax from us. They have to find a way to make money. Violation of traffic is the good start. They can promote their general good intention to stop people from breaking the rules by charging them astronomical amount of money. In effect, they earn that much from us.

Don’t you see those police cars ambush on a camouflage kind of spot, waiting for an opportunity to bust us up in the middle of nowhere. You have no other option, but to fork it over on the court day or before the court day. Why there are so many police cars ambush us from nowhere? Why they don’t crack a case or two? On my way home on I - 285 Sunday night, an alert was released on the billboard, which told us to watch out Child abduction, a silver ford explorer. They can chase this car or follow some useful clue to get this case done. I didn’t object that they shouldn’t bust those fast - speeding cars or drunk drivers. Somehow, I think that they just looking for easy money from us. As you all knew, our economy is down, and there were millions of people without a job. How they gonna pay for the ticket, if they unawarely break the traffic rules. Shouldn’t there be some leniency in a period of time like this?

What about those police cars, my friends and I saw a police car speed over 70 in a 40 - zone. Who gonna give him a ticket for speeding at that moment? Somehow, they abused their priviledges. After all, I have to pay $285 for my ticket, which cost me half weeks working wage. I could use it to get some food for my family, or an extra jacket to get warm from this winter.

If you noticed too, they installed thousands of those traffic cam on every traffic lights. Some reports say that they use it to make money from us. Not on the purpose of deter traffic violation. Same case on those speeding tickets. For all those online friends, you better watch out for it.

Vietnamese town in the U.S.

Published by jzbrynn under Uncategorized Edit This

Have you ever been to Vietnamese town, and have you ever had a friend who is Vietnamese? They have similar tradition to their Chinese counterpart actually. And they were deeply influenced by their Chinese counterparts culturally. Although they have many similar ways to Chinese, I believe that they have their own unique tradition that no one can copy. I will find it colorful and appreciate it for sharing this unique tradition to all of us.

My friend once told me that, Vietnamese language was originated from French. From history, Vietnam was one of French colony. After the war, French withdraw its dominating power in Vietnam, since then, they have their own language which uses alphabet.

If you walk into Vietnamese town, you find restaurants such as Beef Noodle Soup, one of my favorite cuisine from Vietnamese culture. They are tasty, and easy to make. I have introduced it to a couple of friends of mine, they all love it. Somehow, they got addicted to it. Other than beef noodle soup, they have many other cuisines that are yummy, and popular among the Asian Cuisine category.

Vietnamese loves to sing Karaoke. So, there were many video stores available to sell or for rent videos and music DVD. Majority of Vietnamese I knew, they must have a karaoke machine at home. It is a must - have electronic to invite friends over for entertainment. They also watch Chinese movies, which are translated to Vietnamese.

If you have an opportunity walk into Vietnamese town, don’t forget to try their beef noodle soup.

Vietnamese dominate the nail business

Published by jzbrynn under Uncategorized Edit This

As majority of you might noticed that, especially female readers here, Vietnamese taking over the nail business across the country literally. I meant majority of Vietnamese immigrants. At least 9 out of 10 in my personal calculation, not sure about the real statistics counting yet. Most people I knew who is Vietnamese were into the nail business. If they don’t do it, their family members are into it.

In the early 2000, or late 90s, some Vietnamese learn about the nail business, and they earn a license from it as a viable employment. During that period of time, people are willing to spend money to beautify themselves. With manicure, pedicure, full - set of nails, and etc…. A friend of mine, whose family make big bucks from nail business from the late 90s. Now, they have 2 stores in different locations. They did pretty good. I also heard some people say that, some of them earn an average of $3,000 to $4,000 monthly. Because their major income is from customers tips; and they don’t contribute much of tax too; due to the fact they make money in real cash.

It seems that business was doing pretty good, and more people see into it as a promising business. So, more and more people want to share the slice of the market pie. Store after store was open. It spread out literally every shopping center has a nail salon available for nail services. Now, it is a saturated business.

Moreover, although it earns a lot more money in the early 2000s. Some of my friends told me that some people might not be able to stand the chemical smell of these nail polish. That is one catch to work in nail business. Overall, this business is in a saturated period, and not many people be able to earn a high wage this time. Bur Vietnamese still dominate this business.

Do you ever feel like under the shadow of your spouse?

Published by jzbrynn under Uncategorized Edit This

A friend of mine has some stress lately, it is about the relationship with his spouse. I believe that he really loves her, but he felt like that he was inferior to her in terms of job title. She is definitely a smart girl, who graduated from UGA (University of Georgia), a prestigious college in Goergia. Her major was business management. After graduation, she got her first job in a prestigious company (I do not know the name of it). In opposite, he wasn’t even finish his college degree. He dropped out because he intends to make money better than just stay with a textbook 24 hours a day. In his concept, he probably would make more money in the meantime he was in college. That is his option. Now, he working in a nail salon as a nail technician. He might make some decent money, but I guess his wife contribute more money to the family than his.

In several occasion, when we were hanging out, he was venting out his stress. He felt that his wife in a position where he was inferior to her. While she whining about his incompetency. In some occasions, she urged him back to school, or finish his unfinished degree. He wasn’t ready to do it, and probably he doesn’t have a heart to do it again. I knew him pretty well, he wasn’t a student type, who stick to a desk for 6 hours study. Sometimes, they even argue.

I feel that a couple should talk peacefully instead of attacking each other. Or either one of them didn’t listen carefully to each other. They might misunderstood each others’ meaning in a conversation. Or before the conversation started, they already prepared their defensive argument.

Open source for circuit board?

Published by jzbrynn under Uncategorized Edit This

Recently, I read an article about some companies are willing to post their circuit board design online. For people who has those knowledge to modify the design of the original protocol. That is a bold move for those companies who wants innovation, and develop better progress on Computing desing.

On web, I only heard of the open source for software programming. Those are for public modifications. Whoever has write a better program code for certain software, we will adopt it. Such software coding process is widely used on linux, or utility softwares, etc…… That is a better development for people who do not have enough of “gold” for investment. But, they still made known to the world wide web with their coding skills, and their design.

Now, the same concept is applied on these circuit board for better processing. As part of computer component, people can use these advantage to study, and learn for the original protocol. That might be interesting for people who major in engineering, or others hobbies. Companies won’t gain much money from this idea, but they might have their reputation to be known. People who has better designing, might also be known to the world wide web communities too.

That is a good idea somehow, in contradictory to HP, and Sony, they have sealed information to be revealed.
