Land of Immigrants

Published by jzbrynn at 9:48 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

We learned from history, Columbus led a group of navigators in search of shortcut to Eastern India for the profit of trade.  Ironically, he discovered new continent.  Afterward, people from Europe continually cross over sea to settle in the newly discovered land.  The rest of the story is that they all tried to find a new beginning, away from their native-born mother land, for different reasons, either politically, legally or economically.

Nowadays, United States of America is consisting of more immigrants (so called minority) than ever before.  They were coming here for the same reasons as their predecessors, in searching opportunities, freedom, or escape of persecution, etc….. The colorful thing about this place is that we can live in harmony although we are consisted of many different cultures, languages, differences in view of this world.  We might be able to learn the differences from each other, even we all have different backgrounds.  Hispanics, Asian, caucasian, African - American, we all share our customs and listening to each other’s different point of views.  We are all trying to share with and accept each others with our tolerance, and curiosity.  Through this tolerance and curiosity, we open our eyes toward new things, and discover new things.  For food instance, you always wonder what is vietnamese food taste like, how spicy is Thai food.  Through these new experiences, you might discover other than your own cultural cuisines, there are other cuisines are equally delicious to taste.  That makes our lives colorful, to see the big wide world through different experiences.  We called United States is a melting pot, because we are all come from different backgrounds, and we all harmony living in a same place to share our differences.  We should treasure this gift, and respect each other.
